After 1/4 scale model tests in the wind tunnel at Brown University a full sized wooden plug was fabricated with strip planking over plywood frames. The first mold was taken and AX-1 was cast. The mold was altered and AX-2 was laid up complete with floor and firewalls. My brother wanted to round the chine line so the mold was altered again to make AX-3. AX-2 was widened and a new 42 piece mold complete with door, window, headlight, and directional insert molds was cast. Ax-4 was cast with floor and firewalls. AX-4 was widened 8 inches and prepared for a new mold. It looked so good that I widened AX-2 after being driven 5 years in Vermont. Through all these changes the height remained 1 meter. The ratio of width to height exceeds 2 and is bigger than any other exotic car. There is a rear window to see the front bumper of the car behind. The electrical system is as simple as possible to pass inspection. The body shape is also minimal reflecting only what is needed. She is truly a timeless classic.
